A rock-solid Chardonnay that was aged 12 months in 20% new French oak (from seven different blocks in the Sta. Rita Hills), the 2012 Chardonnay Sta. Rita Hills has excellent minerality in its melon, stone fruits and poached-pear-scented bouquet. Medium-bodied, nicely balanced and with excellent purity of fruit, it has both richness and freshness, and should drink nicely for at least 3-4 years.
