This expression from the celebrated Cannubi cru shows some jammy ripeness when you first lift up the glass for examination. The 2015 Barolo Cannubi offers round aromas of blackberry preserves, cherry confit and wild raspberry. Those primary fruit tones (from 50-year-old vines) are followed by a point of bright sweetness that gives this vintage an accessible near- to medium-term approach. Some 5,000 of these bottles were produced.

Broad and deep, with an element of spicy new oak, this red is vibrant and full of cherry, plum and tar flavors. Dense tannins guard the finish as this plays out, echoing fruit, tar and spice accents.
