This estate has long believed in the practice of carbonic maceration for their red Chateauneuf du Pape. Consequently, they are soft, fruity wines that are engaging when young, but only in the finest vintages do they have the ability to age and improve for more than a decade. The 1992 Chateauneuf du Pape is a more interesting wine than the 1993. It reveals deep, ruby color, and an excellent nose of tobacco, cedar, prunes, and jammy black-cherries. Fat and chewy, with copious amounts of alcohol in the finish, it should be drunk over the next 5-6 years. No known American importer.
