Although I did not have a chance to taste the 1994, the 1993 Pavillon Blanc (100% Sauvignon) is one of the finest wines I have recently seen from this property. It is a textbook Sauvignon, with purity, richness of fruit, and a honeyed, melony, fig, smoky, citrusy nose, super delineation and vibrancy, excellent concentration, and a crisp, dry, zesty finish. More accessible, as well as more richly fruity than most Pavillon Blancs, this fine white Bordeaux should drink well for 10-15 years.
