Villard's impressive red wine portfolio includes excellent 1996s and 1995s. The 1995 St.-Joseph Reflet is a beautifully made wine, revealing evidence of pain grille/vanillin from aging in toasty new oak. The wine is dark purple-colored, with a sweet, smoky, black fruit-scented nose, medium body, and is long, rich, and pure in the mouth. Give it 2-4 years of cellaring and drink it over the subsequent 15 years. This is a well-endowed, concentrated, classic St.-Joseph from one of the up and coming stars of the northern Rhone.
