The 2014 Chablis 1er Cru les Fourchaumes Vieilles Vignes is very promising, unfurling in the glass with notes of lemon oil, citrus pith and oatmeal, framed by light leesy reduction. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, tense and tangy, with a bright line of acidity and a saline finish. A few more years of patience will be rewarded, as there's lots of energy and structure here that will unfurl with more bottle age.
