The luxury cuvee of 2003 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Prestige, a blend of 60% Roussanne and 40% Grenache Blanc, was given 100% malolactic fermentation and spent time in old, small barrels. This powerful white exhibits notes of spicy wood as well as tannin, which provoked serious reservations. Nevertheless, it is a big, full-throttle dry white that readers will either love or hate.
