The 2006 Chablis Vaudevey (spelled on these labels as one word) shares with their 2005 rendition of this site its delicacy, its sweetly-perfumed flowers, and a savory lobster shell character. Generous peach and melon succulence extend to a shimmering finishing exchange with mineral elements. This was assembled but not yet bottled when I tasted it, and should drink well for at least 4-6 years.
Winemaker Denis de la Bourdonnaye and proprietor Michel Laroche – who export 85% of their wines, and were Burgundy’s pioneers (along with Verget) in utilizing screw cap closures – are dedicated to the proposition that Chablis can be seductive and sensual while remaining true to its terroir, and they have proven this in bottle with their outstanding 2005 and 2006 collections.
