Produced from Petit Manseng harvested at 20 hectoliters per hectare and aged for 18 months in oak barrels, Cauhape's 1999 Jurancon Noblesse du Temps explodes from the glass with spice, coconut, and sweet melon aromas. It is medium-bodied, velvety-textured, juicy, and crammed with copious quantities of jammy apricots, peaches, vanilla, and spices. My experience with older Jurancons, primarily drunk at Paris' great restaurant Le Carre des Feuillants, is that they age exceedingly well. Projected maturity: 2008-2020.Importer: Simon'N Cellars, Charlottesville, VA; tel. (434) 977-4476
