The 2005 Calatayud Superior is also 100% Garnacha and was aged in 500 liter French oak. Opaque purple-colored, it reveals a superb aromatic array of pain grille, scorched earth, espresso, black cherry, and black raspberry. On the palate it is full-bodied, dense, layered, and sweetly-fruited. Long and loaded, with a few more years of cellaring it will reveal additional complexity. Drink this superb effort through 2025.
