Varietal flavors, Alto Adige character and the personality of the vintage all come together beautifully in the 2009 Sauvignon Winkl. The finish shows tons of detail and nuance. This is an unusual Sauvignon of remarkable pedigree and harmony. It is highly recommended. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2018. The most impressive wines I tasted this year from Alto Adige came from Cantina di Terlano. Simply put, these are reference point wines.
