This is a beautifully fleshed out and generous red wine from a very warm and sunny vintage in Tuscany. Some 13,000 bottles were made. The first vintage made was 1979, and fruit is sourced from the Trefiano vineyard surrounding the estate's Renaissance villa.

This is a dark and savory wine that boasts penetrating tones of black currant and prune with evolved aromas of licorice and Indian spice. Grapes are sourced from a five-hectare single vineyard near the Villa di Trefiano, after which the wine is named. The mouthfeel is sophisticated and smokey.
