The 2009 Onomastica Blanco Reserva is one of the few white Reservas produced, going back to the style of yesteryear, white wines built to last that show quite oaky in their youth, displaying a bright golden color and notes of smoke and vanilla under which there is a layer of ripe yellow fruit, hints of orange rind and chalky minerality. The palate is intense, with some toffee and lactic flavors, yellow plums and a long finish, where the toast notes from the barrels make a comeback. This is not a wine for everybody, as it is marked by a very specific style. It will be interesting to follow its evolution. Drink 2014-2020.
This historical name from Haro has been owned by the Vivanco family since 2002 and they are making great efforts to revive the name and improve the quality of the wines. They are on the right path.
