The 2007 Luenzo is absolutely gorgeous in this vintage. Sweet, open and seductive, it flows across the palate with layers of radiant fruit. Tobacco, smoke, dried flowers and French oak frame the finish. The 2007 does not appear to be a wine to hold on to for too long, but it is drinking beautifully right now. Very fresh plum aromas, with licorice, follow through to a full body, with fine tannins and a long finish. Pretty and balanced. Sangiovese and Colorino. Best after 2009. 900 cases made. -JS

Good, slightly spicy red fruit nose Good, spicy fruit, quite firm but quite ripe. Good use of oak, a polished, classy wine.

This blend of Sangiovese (90%) and Colorino (10%) presents a thicker and denser style than usual for these native Tuscan varieties. The wine is packed tightly with exotic spice, church incense, scented candle and vanilla. The mouthfeel is smooth and bright on the close.——M.L.(5/1/2009)—— 90
