The 2002 Luenzo, Sangiovese with a bit of Colorino, is startlingly good for the vintage, spicy and penetrating with notes of tobacco, Mediterranean herbs, and red berry fruit. Muscular and firm, it is sustained on the mid-palate and finish. The tannins still need a bit of time to unwind, and the wine will drink best between 2007 and 2014.Importer: Montecastelli Selections, New York, NY; tel. (212) 414-4898
