I never think of a Cabernet Sauvignon when I smell this wine. The 2012 Terrer d'Aubert is definitively more influenced by the soil and climate than the grape variety. Once you know it, it's easy to guess where the classic black pepper and balsamic aromas come from. The classical palate is serious, medium to full-bodied with austere tannins and a chalky, tasty finish. 15,000 bottles produced.

The 2010 Terrer d’Aubert is pure Cabernet Sauvignon with notes of ripe black fruit, black pepper, graphite, shoe polish, leather and peat, with a faint animal note. The palate reveals a serious wine, with the classical fine-grained, abundant tannins of the Cabernet, good tension and persistence. A Mediterranean interpretation of Cabernet. Drink 2014-2018. There are not many new, modern, young wineries in an appellation like Tarragona. Vinyes del Terrer was created in 2003 by the Morell family to produce wines from the grapes planted since 1989 in their estate in Vila Seca, where the argilo-calcareous soils have some chalky rocks with marine fossils that are locally known by the name lumaquella.
