Let’s look at their white first, the pale 2012 Josep Foraster Blanc Seleccio, which is a blend of 50% Garnacha Blanca, 40% Macabeo and 10% Chardonnay lightly oaked as half of the wine is fermented in 500-liter barrels and then aged for six months in those barrels, and a further six months in vat in contact with the lees. The nose has delineated aromas of apples, yellow plums and quince, intermixed with subtle tones from the oak, smoke and vanilla and a clear aniseed note. The palate is very dry, with good acidity, combining spicy flavors from the oak with clean fruit from the grapes in a very pleasant way. Drink now.
is a family winery, created in 1998, where they work exclusively with the fruit of their own vineyards, which are organically farmed. I really liked their interpretation of the local red grape Trepat.
