Marked by scents of ripe cherries, garrigue, and hints of licorice and blanched almonds, the 2018 Gigondas Les Reinages boasts a complex and engaging nose. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, silky and elegant. Not a blockbuster, it’s easy to drink, with the balance and intensity to take it to at least 2026 or so.

A fine effort from this Northern Rh?ne-based négociant, the 2017 Gigondas Les Reinages is a tank-aged 80-20 blend of Grenache and Syrah. Lovely raspberry fruit picks up a tinge of something herbal on the nose, while the full-bodied palate is supple, silky and loaded with red fruit. Pure and elegant, it should drink well for at least 5-6 years.

Showing awesome floral and stone fruit notes that had me almost thinking Condrieu, this is full-bodied and concentrated, with supple tannins that firm up on the finish. Drink this exotic, sexy Gigondas over the next decade.
