A terrific introduction to the range, the 2020 Meursault Village is the usual blend of Les Pelles (below the premiers crus) and Chaumes des Narvaux (below Narvaux and above the premiers crus) with Les Corbins and Les Peutes Vignes (which touch Les Santenots). Unwinding in the glass with scents of pear, citrus oil and bee pollen framed by light reduction, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and fleshy, with tangy acids and a saline finish.

Neither the 1991 MEURSAULT or its companion wine the MEURSAULT LES GENEVRIERES performed well, being uncommonly light and high in acidity. Are they the products of over-cropping?
