Scents of red cherries, spices and sweet berries preface the 2021 Morey-Saint-Denis Très Girard, a medium to full-bodied, layered and precise wine that's bright and charming.

The 2020 Morey-Saint-Denis Très Girard unwinds in the glass with rich aromas of cherries, wild berries, warm spices and loamy soil. Medium to full-bodied, concentrated and muscular, it's deep and layered, with plenty of powdery tannins and lively balancing acids.

Aromas of wild berries, cassis, grilled meats and rich soil tones introduce Tremblay's 2018 Morey-Saint-Denis Très Girard, a fleshy and enveloping wine that's medium to full-bodied, supple and gourmand, with powdery structuring tannins and a nicely defined finish.

Aromas of raspberries, cherries and warm spices introduce the 2017 Morey-Saint-Denis Très Girard, a medium to full-bodied, open-knit, rounded wine that's framed by a fine-grained chassis of chalky tannin.

The 2015 Morey Saint Denis les Très Girard suffered some grillure on the "younger vines" (45 years old), although Cécile did not know why particularly in this location. It contains around 30% whole bunch fruit and offers a well-defined blueberry and raspberry-scented bouquet, a touch of incense developing with aeration. The palate has good backbone and comes across as quite structured for a village cru, though that is what you expect from any self-respecting Morey-Saint-Denis. I appreciate the confit-tinged finish that just needs to develop a little more persistence on the aftertaste to match the excellent 2014 from last year.
