The 2009 Cotes du Rhone Les Trois Soeurs (a blend of 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah, and 10% Carignan from 30- to 60-year-old vines) offers a delicious mouthful of wine for a song. Its dense plum color is accompanied by notes of white chocolate, crushed berry fruit, earth, and licorice. Broad, savory, and silky textured, this delicious, enormously satisfying 2009 should drink well for 2-3 years. Readers may recall that this estate turned out terrific 2007s, and their bevy of impressive 2009s comes close to matching that success.Importer: Peter Weygandt, Weygandt-Metzler, Coatesville, PA; tel.
