The 2017 Auxey-Duresses Village reveals an attractive bouquet of cherries, cassis, smoked meats and forest floor, followed by a medium to full-bodied, fleshy palate girdled by lively acids and ripe, attractively chewy tannins. This is a characterful red that's true to its appellation.

The Auxey-Duresses Rouge has a pleasant cranberry and raspberry-scented bouquet that has plenty of vigor and brightness. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannins, plenty of cranberry and strawberry fruit with excellent delineation and crispness on the finish. No, it is not a complex Auxey, but it is very well-crafted and a delightful red Burgundy to just sit back and enjoy. Tasted May 2013.
