Rene Rostaing, ever a stickler for detail and high quality, declassified all three of his 2008 Cote Rotie cuvees, preferring to make a fruity, straightforward 2008 Cote Rotie Terroir. A blend of 40% Cote Blonde, 50% La Landonne and 10% from the classic cuvee, it is slightly acidic, short and clearly shows that even such a gifted wine producer and viticulturist as Rostaing could not overcome many of the challenges that existed in 2008.
