The stunning 2014 BFM checks in as a Merlot-dominated blend that includes 14% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot. Its deep ruby/purple color is followed by a seamless, pure, medium to full-bodied beauty that has sweet tannin, lots of fruit and notes of blackcurrants, graphite and lead pencil shavings. Drink this heady, ripe, sumptuous beauty over the coming 4-6 years.

A terrific Bordeaux blend, the 2013 Bfm is 81% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot that saw plenty of time on fine lees and aging in 28% new oak. It offers lots of chocolaty dark fruits, plum, smoked herbs and hints of olive tapenade in a full-bodied, decadent, even sexy personality that’s already hard to resist. It’s a terrific success in the vintage and will drink nicely for at least 8-10 years.

A blend of 75% Merlot, 14% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc and the balance Petit Verdot, the 2012 BFM is a rounded, balanced, nicely textured and medium to full-bodied red that gives up ample black cherry, kirsch, and raspberry fruit mixed with spice and toasted bread nuances. Aged in 22% new barrels, there were just over 300 cases made and it will offer plenty of pleasure over the coming decade.

Slightly more straightforward, the fruit bomb styled 2011 BFM checks in as a blend of 78% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Petit Verdot and 1% Malbec that was aged in 40% new oak. Seamless, pure and supple, with no hard edges, it offers classic plum, licorice, dark fruit, chocolate and hints of herbs to go with a plump, hedonistic feel. Also outstanding, the 2010 BFM is slightly less exotic than the Tall Tales, yet has more fruit and depth on the palate. Offering up notions of smoked plums, currant, roasted meats, violets and spring flowers, it flows onto the palate with a full-bodied, decadent texture that stays light and weightless before turning grippy and firm on the finish with ripe tannin.
