Attractive aromas of cherries, red plums and citrus peel with hints of tea leaf, cardamom, chocolate, bark and moist forest floor. Medium- to full-bodied, bright and steady with lots of energy and firm tannins. Showing some austerity, but in a good way, with fresh juicy fruit underneath. Hints of tobacco and crushed rocks at the end. From organically grown grapes. Better from 2025.

The Arione site usually shows extra muscle and power, and that's exactly what you get here. The Enzo Boglietti 2018 Barolo Arione is very polished and firm with a pretty succession of aromas that include redcurrant, dried spice, licorice and dried apricot or sweet orange.

With fruit from Serralunga d'Alba and its denser calcareous clay soils, the Enzo Boglietti 2017 Barolo Arione stands out sharply in this group of wines all made with softer fruit La Morra. This wine sports a dark ruby or garnet hue to its appearance, although the wine's concentration remains noticeable glossy and translucent nonetheless. The wine's structure and tannins are apparent, and the bouquet shows dark fruit, Amarena cherries, spice and cedar. The mineral notes are sanguine and rusty. Production is 3,000 bottles.

The Enzo Boglietti 2016 Barolo Arione draws its fruit from Serralunga d'Alba, from a vineyard site that has gained much attention in recent years. Arione has thick silty soils and these contribute to the gentle finesse and floral perfumes of the wine. Don't forget power. There is plenty of muscle flexing in this brawny, determined Nebbiolo with firm tannins and deep structure. A mere 2,000 bottles were produced. Count on this wine to complete a long and rewarding drinking arc.
