The 2011 Siena, a blend of Sangiovese, Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon (a Sonoma Super-Tuscan for sure), displays a dark ruby color in addition to soft, round, strawberry and cherry fruit flavors, a sensual, seductive mouthfeel and a velvety finish. Drink it over the next 4-5 years. Ferrari-Carano appears to have the correct formula for Fume Blanc. Perhaps I am a bit sentimental as it was my Mother’s favorite wine, and was the only wine with which I could ever get her slightly buzzed.
