The 2018 Kallstadter Saumagen Riesling Kabinett trocken is clear, deep, elegant and chalky on the still-reductive nose, if not slightly animally, with caramel, burnt chalk and ripe fruit aromas. Pure and straight as well as firm and fresh on the palate, this is a tight, salty, enormously vital and sustainable Saumagen with elegance, finesse and tension on the finish. Very promising and carried by remarkably vital mineral acidity. Great Riesling at 12% alcohol. Tasted from AP 1919 in July 2020.

Limestone, herbal and stone fruit aromas and dried white fruit and even floral aromas on the nose lead to a lean, straight, refreshing and well-structured palate with a tight, minerally fresh and elegant finish.
