The deep purple-colored 2009 El Tallar Seleccion was sourced from vines ranging in age from 50-70 years and has been aging in new Hungarian oak. Aromas of pain grille, mineral, tapenade, Asian spices, and assorted black fruits lead to a dense, plush, full-flavored wine that is nicely proportioned and lengthy. It will benefit from another 2-3 years of cellaring and should be at its best from 2013 to 2021+. Majuelos de Espana, headed by Felipe Alvarez, is a negociant group whose grape growers and winemakers are devoted to recovering old Majuelos (Vineyards) across Spain. Majuelos de Espana’s offerings from Ribera del Duero are all barrel samples of 100% Tinta Fine (Tempranillo) from the great 2009 vintage.Importer: Felipe Alvarez, Majuelos de Espana, www.majuelos.com
