The 2017 Vacqueyras Mineral Blanc is a blend of 50% Bourboulenc, 25% Grenache Blanc and 25% Roussanne. As always at this address, there's no oak used. This wine offers up aromas of struck flint and lime flesh. It's medium to full-bodied, fairly round on the mid-palate, then gains focus on the finish to end on brine and zest notes.

The medium-bodied 2016 Vacqueyras Mineral Blanc is a blend of 50% Bourboulenc, 25% Roussanne and 25% Grenache Blanc. It's only medium-bodied, even a touch lean for the appellation, with straight-ahead citrus and pineapple flavors and decent length.

A unique Bourboulenc-dominated blend that incorporates 25% Grenache Blanc and 25% Roussanne, the 2015 Vacqueyras Mineral Blanc sports a medium gold color as well as notes of buttered apples, pineapple and white flowers. This medium-bodied, balanced white has a distinct saltiness on the finish, good acidity and clean finish. Drink it over the coming 2-3 years.

In the same realm as the 2015, the 2014 Vacqueyras Mineral Blanc offers lots of minerality, leafy herbs and pineapple characteristics in a medium-bodied, pure, classy package. This cuvee can age, but I think it’s best in its first 2-3 years or so.

In addition to their reds, Montirius makes a solid white, although the 2012 was better a year ago. The 2012 Vacqueyras Mineral Blanc is an interesting blend of 50% Bourboulenc, 25% Roussanne and 25% Grenache Blanc that’s brought up all in concrete. It’s a fleshy, low acid, enjoyable effort that gives up notes of lemon, green citrus and menthol. Drink it over the coming year.
