The 2007 Lagrein Riserva is a gorgeous wine. Some of the wildness of Lagrein has been tamed here, and replaced by a generous core of black fruits, grilled herbs and spices. The wine possesses tons of polish and elegance, with a round, supple finish that is rare with this variety. This is an utterly convincing Lagrein. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2017.
