Schubert Estate’s 2008 Goose-yard Block Shiraz has a deep garnet-purple color and intense aromas of baked blackberries and blueberries plus touches of raisin toast, cloves and dark chocolate. Full bodied and packed with plenty of warm berry fruit, it has very crisp slightly disjointed acidity and a medium to firm level of chewy tannins, finishing with lingering dried fruit and spice notes. Drinking now, it should keep through 2018. Importers: Total Beverage Solutions, Mt Pleasant, NC and Ronnie Sanders, Vine Street Imports, Philadelphia, PA; www.vsimports.com
