The 2018 VT Vendimia Seleccionada is a blend of 75% Tinto Fino, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Merlot that fermented separately and matured for 12 months in French oak barrels, 25% of them new. There are some toasted notes intermixed with ripe berries, some flowers and plenty of herbs and spices, continuing the path of freshness that I saw in 2014. It feels a little riper than the pure Tinto Fino, with a medium to full-bodied palate and some dusty tannins. The Cabernet and Merlot change the character of this blend compared with the pure Tinto Fino and also make it a little rounder and more fruit-driven, with a little more spicy oak and a touch of meaty aromas. 7,720 bottles and 300 magnums produced. It was bottled in July 2020.

The 2015 VT Vendimia Seleccionada also feels fresher than the 2014, even though it's still quite tannic. But it's a serious Ribera that reminds me more of the wines from yesteryear than the ones from the years of too much excess. The Tempranillo is blended with 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Merlot. 5,300 bottles were filled in May 2017 after 18 months in barrel.

The 2014 VT Vendimia Seleccionada mixes ripe notes of cherries in liqueur with some herbal aromas. It contains 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Merlot on top of the Tempranillo, and was aged in barrel for 14 months. The palate has abundant fine-grained tannins and some sweet, spicy flavors that dominate the finish. 8,700 bottles produced.

The 2011 VT Vendimia Seleccionada contains 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Merlot, and the French varieties clearly dominate the nose and add plenty of herbal aromas with notes of bell pepper that are quite pungent, and at the same time, intermingled with aromas of very ripe blackberry. Very un-Ribera with some fierce tannins and a dry finish.

The 2010 VT Vendimia Seleccionada contains 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Merlot on top of the Tempranillo grown at 900 meters altitude. The nose is fresh and ripe at the same time, mixing notes of red fruits with others that lean more toward the plums and dark berries with a hint of spices. The palate is medium-bodied with balsamic and herbal flavors, mixing ripe and lean sensations with a warm end that seem contradictory. I cannot really make up my mind. Drink 2014-2017.
