From Pommard and Wadenswil clone vines planted at 600 feet of elevation, the 2019 Pinot Noir Aliette has a medium ruby color and pure aromas of red cherries, tobacco leaves, mushroom powder and lavender. The medium-bodied palate is concentrated yet weightless, with a silky, refreshing structure, transparent flavors and a long finish defined by a fan of savory, herbal and Angostura-like nuances.

Pale ruby, the 2018 Pinot Noir Aliette features layered scents of woodsmoke, violet, earth and licorice with a deep core of spicy, briary fruit. The medium-bodied palate is open and inviting, its detailed, spicy nuances of licorice and tangerine gliding seamlessly through the mouth, and it has a very long, ethereal finish.

The 2017 Pinot Noir Aliette comes from Pommard and Wadensvil clones. Medium ruby, it offers crushed blackberries, black cherries, loamy earth, oolong tea leaves, bergamot and lavender on the nose with touches of clove and dried leaves. It's medium-bodied and silky with restrained, perfumed fruits, a grainy frame and juicy freshness, finishing long and nuanced. 700 cases produced. This will benefit from another year in bottle, but it's perfectly approachable now.

Pale ruby in color, the 2016 Pinot Noir Aliette has a lovely spicy/floral nose with notes of strawberry, rhubarb, red cherry pie, cinnamon stick, dried leaves and dusty earth. Light-bodied with oodles of sweet red fruits in the mouth, it gives wonderful spicy layers—dried flowers, tobacco—with firm, grainy tannins and mouthwatering acidity, finishing long with gobs of sweet spice and savory layers. This has plenty of fruit to soak up the new oak, so give this a year or two in bottle. 700 cases produced.

The 2012 Pinot Noir Aliette has an attractive bouquet with expressive red cherries, wild strawberry and cranberry fruit infused with fine dark chocolate and dry tobacco scents that are neatly intertwined. The palate is medium-bodied and masculine in style, but it is nicely poised with rosemary and sage infusing the red berry fruit, with pleasing weight and persistence on the finish that exerts a gentle grip. Fine.
