An estate-grown blend of 59% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 11% Malbec and 10% Petit Verdot, the 2020 Benchmark Red Blend offers up intriguing scents of cherries, allspice, nutmeg and blueberries. Selected and blended six to eight months post-harvest, then aged for another year in barrel, it saw a total of 20 months in 88% new French oak. It's full-bodied, somewhat firm and nicely structured in the mouth, with a long finish that's velvety without being soft. In the context of Napa Valley, it offers solid value.
