It's unusual to have an Albari?o wine in Ribeiro. The 2013 X is one that is named after the schist soils (xisto in Gallego) where the Albari?o (and 5% Treixadura) grapes are grown. As with all their wines, it's fermented with indigenous yeasts and kept in contact with the lees until bottling in July after the harvest. It's very expressive, combining the Albari?o fruit notes with the minerality of the soil, perhaps more on the fuit side this vintage. The palate seems smoother than in other years, with some apricot flavors making it quite approachable. 5,000 bottles produced
