The 1997 Meursault Genevrieres' nose is crammed with super-ripe aromas of red berries, mangoes, and passion fruit. On the palate red currants, spiced/candied apples, poached pears, and vanilla-infused oak can be found. It is a chewy, viscous, medium-to-full-bodied wine that is well-focused as well as immensely flavorful. Projected maturity: now-2005. Francois Mikulski fashioned delightfully ripe and rich 1997s. When asked what his pH levels were like, he responded that he never had pH tests performed on his wines and was not a fan of oenologists. He added that in 1997 he neither acidified nor chaptalized any wines.
