I did not taste the 2001s, but the 2000 Cote Rotie exhibits a classic nose of violets, white flowers, raspberries, currants, and a touch of new oak. As it sits in the glass, spicy oak comes to the forefront. Although compressed and lacking the concentration of this estate’s finest vintages, it is well-made, clean, and best drunk over the next 5-6 years.
