Domaine des Amouriers is one of the up and coming stars of the appellation of Vacqueyras (the next-door neighbor of Gigondas). I was impressed with the 1989 and 1990 Domaine des Amouriers Vacqueyras, and I have been equally persuaded by this 1994. Made from a blend of 60% Grenache, 20% Mourvedre, and 20% Syrah, the wine reveals a deep ruby color, a big, forceful, peppery, black-cherry and Provencal herb-scented nose, ripe, medium to full-bodied, spicy flavors, an attractive suppleness, and a smooth, rich finish. It should drink well for 4-5 years.Importer: Robert Kacher Selections, Washington, DC; tel. (202) 832-9083
