The Carpineto 2014 Brunello di Montalcino is a dense and structured wine that ultimately brings more power than you might expect of this often lean and mild vintage. This is a mid-weight expression with a dark, brooding appearance. The bouquet offers ripe blackberry and cherry with tarry spice and campfire ash at the back. This is a meaty and succulent red wine to pair with thick cuts of barbecued red meat straight off the grill. Some 15,000 bottles were released.

This is rich, offering ripe cherry, plum and light floral flavors. Displays density and a firm structure, with dusty tannins shoring up the finish. Shows fine freshness and purity overall.
