The 1993 Cuvee de l'Oree has developed more nuances, offering up liquid granitelike aromas combined with honey, smoke, and flowery scents. There is even a hint of overripe peaches. The wine possesses great fruit, a layered, viscous texture, huge quantities of alcohol and glycerin, and a blockbuster finish. It is an utterly massive example of white Hermitage, exceeded in size, glycerin level, and intensity only by the 1992 Ermitage Cuvee de l'Oree. Anticipated maturity: now-2012. Last tasted 6/96.
