The 2016 Marsannay Clos du Roy showed brilliantly from bottle, bursting from the glass with notes of cassis, spices, plums and cherries. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, lavishly textural, succulent and concentrated, with a fine-grained chassis of tannin cloaked in an exuberant core of fruit. This is one of the more gourmand bottlings in the Audoin cellars this year.
