The 2012 Coleccio Terrers Aptia Macabeo is aged for six months in 500-liter barrels and is slightly marked by the oak, with a spicy, smoky nose as well as notes of white apples and pears and some sweet spices and fennel. The palate is fresh, with some smoky, leesy flavors, moderate acidity but quite tasty, with a mineral, fresh, salty finish. Macabeo or Macabeu in the Catalan language is the grape known as Viura in Rioja. Drink now-2016.
These are the still white wines wearing the Penedes appellation back label from Cava producer Agusti Torello.
