Laurent Juillot's 2015 Mercurey 1er Cru Clos des Barraults Blanc offers up aromas of buttered apples, white peach and almond paste, followed by a medium-bodied, open-knit palate with juicy acids and a chalky finish that turns just a touch soapy on the back end. It's a good wine, but it misses some of the depth and persistence I found from barrel, and I suspect this site may simply have struggled in the warm, dry 2015 vintage.
