Medium to deep garnet colored, the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Bosche Vineyard has some medicinal and fried herbs wafts over a core of baked black plums and stewed cherries plus hints of tobacco and new leather. Medium to full-bodied, the palate provides oodles of freshness and a pleasantly chewy frame supporting the straightforward black fruits, finishing earthy.

From Rutherford, the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Bosche Vineyard was somewhat closed the day I tasted it. Its dense ruby/plum color is followed by notions of loamy soil, kirsch, herbs and spice box. The wine has some light tannin to shed and lacks the profound richness, intensity and depth of the top 2007 Cabernet Sauvignons, but it should evolve for 12-15 years. Shows all the hallmarks of an important young Napa Cabernet. Bone dry and quite hard in tannins, it’s immensely concentrated in blackberries, black currants, cassis and fine, smoky new oak.
