Some readers may remember the super reviews this winery's Semillon received in issue 69 of The Wine Advocate. Their newest release, the 1989, is another rich, creamy-textured wine that rivals the finest Semillons I have tasted from California's Kalin Cellars. In addition to being a super bargain, it will work beautifully with either the rich crab cakes of the mid-Atlantic region or grilled salmon from the Pacific northwest. It is intensely flavored, with a honeyed, melony, grassy character, a full, opulent style, and a long, heady finish. This is no shy Semillon. I would not be surprised to see this wine last for 4-5 more years. A great value!
