This estate made fine 1991s, and among their 1992s, the Chambolle-Musigny-Derriere La Grange and the Chambolle-Musigny-Les Amoureuses are the two most successful wines. The less expensive 1992 Chambolle-Musigny-Derriere La Grange is more concentrated and complete, although I am splitting hairs at this quality level. The wine exhibits a dark ruby color, a beautiful, seductive nose of ripe berry fruit, toasty vanillin, new oak, and floral scents, excellent concentration, low acidity, and surprising length for a 1992. Sweet, expansive, and already precocious, this charming, well-extracted wine should drink well for 5-6 years. Importer: Louis/Dressner Selections, New York, NY; tel. (212) 319-8768.
