The 2006 Barolo Tortoniano is a beautiful wine with gorgeous depth and intensity in its dark red fruit, spice, flowers and licorice. The Tortoniano deftly balances richness and concentration with what is essentially a fairly medium-bodied style. The sweet, perfumed fruit carries the wine effortlessly through the soft, enveloping finish. This is a beautiful effort from Chiarlo. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2026. This is a strong set of new releases from Michele Chiarlo.
