The 2007 The Ditch Digger, a knock-out blend of 37% Grenache, 29% Syrah, 26% Mourvedre, 5% Counoise, and 3% Cinsault, is a complex red wine boasting superb aromatics of pepper, incense, sweet black cherries, plums, and a gamy, meaty character. Medium to full-bodied with excellent fruit purity, a multilayered texture, sweet tannin, and a long finish, it can be consumed now and over the next 3-4 years or longer. These are four beautiful wines produced from the limestone hillsides of this vineyard just off Vineyard Drive on the west side of Paso Robles.
