I’ve always loved the whites from Domaine de la Solitude, and I was thrilled to see the 2006 Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc showing so well at ten years of age. Made from 80% Roussanne and 20% Clairette, all from sandy soils located around the estate (which is located in the La Crau lieu-dit), it was fermented and aged in new French oak. Offering gorgeous depth and richness in its caramelized fruits, marzipan, honeysuckle and brioche-scented bouquet, it’s full-bodied, textured and still lively and fresh on the palate. It’s fully mature yet will continue evolving nicely going forward.
