The Chapoutier family owns nearly 7 acres of Condrieu vineyards, from which they fashion a flinty, mineral-dominated, tasty, medium-bodied wine that emphasizes elegance and lively, fresh fruit and purity. It offers a contrast to the appellation's thicker, more unctuously-styled wines. The 1994 is a well-made, crisp Condrieu for drinking over the next 2- 3 years. This wine was tasted in September, 1995, from bottle, unless otherwise noted. Prices quoted are based on the current exchange rate of five francs per dollar.Importer: Paterno Imports, Chicago, IL; tel. (312) 247-7070
